One Room Challenge: Week 4
We have made great progress in the room but now I am starting to panic. Not so much because of the time but I am all of a sudden worried it just won’t turn out how I picture it and won’t be quite as great as I had hoped. Maybe this is normal at this stage in the game???? Maybe it is because the room is such a mess, more so than last week. Here is where we are at right now.
I mean it truly looks awful. We got the ceiling painted and I do like the color and how it brightens the room and gives it a fun pop of color but the pictures just don’t do it justice.
I stopped painting the wall a little over half done because painting with a 15 month old and 3 year old around is slow going and a little tricky and also because I panicked. I was harder than I anticipated to get in between the cracks (should have know that!) and the trim was definitely harder to paint and still have the detail show through. So I stopped and am going to sit on it a bit and decide if it is going the direction I want or not.
The detail is showing through great like I hoped but it definitely needs another coat. But I had to stop and decide if I want to try and paint in between the cracks and fill all the knots like the one above or let some of it show through and add to the rustic look. Maybe that is why I am so panicked because I hadn’t anticipated this. I figured painting it would go quickly and that putting it up was the hard part. Now I am just second guessing myself.
But it looks so pretty in this picture….
I did accomplish a few other things, like the leopard pillow. Here he is posing in my favorite pink chair.
My fabric came. Must have been the stress because I placed the order twice. So now I have twice the amount of fabric I need. Oh well. At least it’s pretty fabric! 😉
Here is the floral fabric for the last of the throw pillows.
Here is the gold fabric with the curtains.
The pictures just don’t do it justice. The color is a little darker but the texture is so pretty and there is a slight sheen to it (but not super shiny like the photo from last week). I think I am finally satisfied with them and that I will love how they turn out.
I found a few more things for my gallery wall.
I remembered my mom had made me these really pretty doilies and I could never decide how to display them. Since I am trying to add things to my gallery wall that have special meaning, I think these will work perfect. Now I just need to decide how to display them.
I just decided last night that I think a smaller couch would fit the room better. Our current one takes up a lot of space. I am thinking that a smaller and more narrow couch would fit better. But I do not have the budget for a new couch. I thought I had solved my problem last night when I found a small vintage couch for sale for only $15. But someone bought it before me. 🙁 So I may just have to use my current one. But maybe I’ll get lucky and find one. But then I would have to reupholster a couch before the end of the challenge…
Thanks for stopping by!!!
