Hi, we are the Howells. This is our blog where we chronicle the adventures of our little pack. We will share a little bit of everything so I guess that makes us a lifestyle blog. We are passionate about having the life we want and spending less to get it. I guess our tastes are too expensive for our pocketbook! 😉 But we found a way to still have what we want while spending less. This blog is where we share what we have learned and how we do it.
When we were coming up with the name for our blog, Jason wanted to have it to be a play on our last name. After he suggested the name The Wolf Den, I did some research on wolves, learned a lot, and knew the name would stick (my first reaction though was no, it reminded me too much of scouts).
In our research we found that we were similar to wolves in many ways. Wolves are pack animals where families come first. For us family comes first. At one point, wolves were nearly extinct in North America. We feel like strong family values and putting families first is becoming extinct. We would like to make sure that doesn’t happen to our family and maybe by sharing how we strengthen our family it might help strengthen yours :). Wolves are devoted parents and maintain strong family ties. They also work together as a pack to do many things like hunt food and raise cubs. It is our goal to be like that. We want to work together with you to help you have the life you want no matter what your budget is.
In addition to how we strengthen our family and save money, we will be sharing many of the things we also love to do such as: home decor, travel, family fun, parties, fashion, sewing, diy, gardening and canning.
Meet the Wolves:
Jason: He is the leader of our pack, our most tech savvy member, and my absolute best friend!
Tilisa: I am the crazy mom of this amazing pack and will probably do most of the writing because this was cheaper than therapy. 😉 Jason may throw random things in now and then though cause that’s just the way he is…
Cub #1: Sofie is our oldest cub. She has a compassionate heart and is always concerned about others. She loves Monster High and any kind of art. She is a quick learner and loves to learn new things and can almost always be found with her nose in a book or working on an art project.
Cub #2: Wiatt is our oldest boy and has a very tender heart. He is very protective of his siblings and loves to spend time with his Dad and Grandpa. He can often be found outside helping with the garden and looks forward to yearly hunting trips in the fall.
Cub #3: Gracee is our free spirited, milk loving, stubborn girl. She cannot be swayed easily once she sets her mind to something. She is also quick witted like her Daddy. This is one of our favorite examples of this:
Gracee: Can I have some milk?
Daddy (seeing there were at least four dirty sippy cups in the sink): How much milk have you had today?
Gracee (without missing a beat): Hmmmm…… not enough.
Cub #4: Pierce is our baby and we are all enamored with him. He thinks he is much bigger than he is and despite all our pleading he is still getting bigger. He can be found chasing his sibling around the house and giggling the whole time.
We are glad you chose to follow our pack! We hope you join in our adventures!
*We do have pictures coming soon I promise! Every time we plan to take them either it rains or someone bumps their head and has a giant scrape or bruise. We’ll get it together soon! I hope… 🙂
